犬のフン - Caca de perro - Dog poo

息子と自転車で出かけるたびに、通りに犬のフンがたくさん放置されていることに驚く。この前、子供が自転車で犬のフンをひいてしまった。量から察するに、かなり大きな犬のものであることは明らかだった。このフンの持ち主はもちろん犬の飼い主なのだが、家に戻る前に自転車の車輪を洗わなければならなかったのは僕だった。

スペインでは４５０万匹の犬がいると言われている。毎日排出されるフンの量は３６万キロ。うち７０％は通りで排出されるが、こうしたフンをきちんと始末する飼い主は全体の４０％にすぎないという。

放置された犬のフンが引き起こす問題を研究する獣医によると、３０％以上の犬は寄生虫感染しており、寄生虫はフンにまじっているのだという。とくに外で遊ぶ子供たちにとっては危険な存在であり、膿疱、腸障害、眼幼虫移行症といった深刻な病気の原因にもなりうるのだという。

僕の住む町では犬のフンをきちんと始末する飼い主が比較的多いが、それでも歩道には必ずフンが落ちている。おそらく、早朝や深夜、通りに誰もいない時間帯に犬を散歩させる飼い主がフンをそのままにしておくのだろう。ご存知のとおり、この国では、ルールとは「やむを得ないときにだけ従うもの」なのだ。

そこで今日、生徒たちに聞いてみた。家で犬を飼っている人。飼っているとしたら、フンをきちんと始末している人。犬を飼っている生徒たちはみんな、フンをきちんと始末していると言った。ただし、ジェシーだけは違った。

「みんなウソつき。あたしは始末なんかしない。ママに犬の散歩をさせられたうえに、クソ（Mierda）まで拾うなんてまっぴらゴメンよ」

フンの教養語は「Heces」。「Excrementos」はスタンダード。「Caca」は口語で、幼児語でもある。「Mierda」はスラングだ。

こういう時はやっぱり、マキ・ナバハの意見を引き合いに出したい。

「La mejor manera de llamar a la mierda es mierda」

（「クソ」の一番いい呼び方は「クソ」だよ）

僕もまったく同意見だ。

Caca de perro.

Cada vez que salgo con mi hijo pequeño a pasear con la bici me sorprende la cantidad de caca de perro que hay por la calle. La última vez, sin embargo, mi hijo pasó con las dos ruedas de la bici por encima de una montón de excrementos que pertenecían sin duda a un perro bastante grande y a su propietario, pero fui yo, y no el dueño del perro, quien tuvo que limpiar las ruedas de la bici antes de volver a casa.

En España dicen que hay cuatro millones y medio de perros, que producen 360.000 kilos de excrementos cada día. El 70% de estos excrementos se depositan en la calle, pero solo el 40% de dueños de perros los recogen.

Según los veterinarios que estudian los problemas que comportan estos excrementos, más del 30% de perros podrían estar infectados por parásitos que estarán en las heces y que se quedan en lugares donde pueden ser especialmente peligrosas para quienes juegan en la calle: los niños. Las consecuencias pueden ser quistes, trastornos intestinales, incluso larvas en los ojos.

Donde yo vivo es bastante habitual ver a los dueños de los perros recoger sus cacas y, sin embargo, siempre se encuentra cacas de perro por las aceras. Supongo que las personas que sacan a los perros muy temprano o muy tarde, cuando no hay mucha gente por la calle, no se molestan en recogerlas. En este país, ya se sabe, las reglas solo hay que seguirlas si no hay más remedio. Hoy he preguntado a mis alumnos primero quién tiene perro en casa, y luego quién recoge las cacas. Todos mis alumnos dicen que las recogen. Todos, menos una, mi alumna Yesi, que me ha dicho:

«Pos (pues) yo no la recojo. Encima que mi madre mace (me hace) sacar al perro, namás (nada más) falta tener que recogerle la mierda».

«Heces» se utiliza en el registro culto del lenguaje. «Excrementos» pertenece al registro estándar. «Caca» es registro coloquial y se utiliza mucho con niños. «Mierda» es registro vulgar.

En este caso, yo voy a citar una opinión de Maki Navaja, con la que coincido: «La mejor manera de llamar a la mierda es mierda». 

Dog poo

Every time I take my little boy out with his bike I get surprised by the amount of dog poo you can find here on the streets. Last time, however, my son rode with both wheels in a heap of dog excrements that belonged no doubt to a very big animal and to its owner, but it was me, and not that person who had to clean both wheels before coming back home.

They say there are about four million five hundred thousand dogs in Spain that produce 360.000 kilos of excrements every day. 70% of those excrements are produced on the streets, but only 40% of the dogs owners duck to clean their dog mess.

According to those vets investigating the problems caused by those excrements, more than 30% of the dogs could be infected by parasites which are in those faeces and are left in places that are potentially dangerous for those who play on the street: children. The consequences can be cysts, intestinal disorders, even larvae in eyes.

In this city it happens quite often that you see people with dogs cleaning their excrements. However, there are always dog poo on sidewalks. I guess that those people who take their dogs out for a walk early in the morning or late at night don´t bother to clean their dogs’ excrements. We all know that, in this country, rules are only to be followed except when you can do it otherwise. Today I have asked my students if they have a dog, and then if they clean the dog poo when they take it out for a walk. Every one of them said of course they clean the mess. Everyone but one, my student Yesi, who has said:

«I don´t. My mother makes me take the dog out and on top of that, I have to clean the shit? No way».

«Heces» (faeces) is used in the high-level language standard. «Excrementos» belong to standard Spanish. «Caca» is coloquial level and it is much used with children, like poo or poop. «Mierda» (shit) is vulgar.

In this case, I would like to quote one of Maki’s sentences I totally agree with: «The best way to say shit is shit».
