タイムカプセル - Cápsula del tiempo - Time Capsule

５年前、休んだ教師に代わって、小学校６年生のクラスで授業をしたことがあった。当時の生徒たちは今中学校最終学年の４年生。２００９年の初春だった５年前のあの日、僕は生徒に隣の席に座っているクラスメートについて数行の作文を書かせ、似顔絵も描いてもらった。僕はその紙をファイルに入れて、いつの間にか紙のこともファイルのことも忘れていた。

数日前、１人の生徒にあの紙はどうなったのかと聞かれた。今朝探し出して、クラスに持って行った。中学校卒業の数ヶ月前ともなると、生徒たちはナーバスになるものだ。ほとんどの生徒がもう何年間も同じ学校で過ごしてきたのだから当然だろう。教師とも３～４年間いっしょだったということになる。

「マルタはつても優しい女の子です。１１歳で、背は高くも低くもありません。今はどちらかというとやせている方だけど、本人は太っていると思いこんでいます。とても親切で、ちょっとシャイで、でもすごく優しいです。もっと言えば、ちょっとしつこいところもあって、うざったくなることもあるかもしれないけれど、全体的にはいい友達と言えます」

「ダビドには変な趣味があります。たとえば、人を後ろから走って追いかけたり、くちびるをかんだり、変な顔をしたり…。知っている女子全員を誘おうとします。でも、なぜか好きな子が毎日変わります。丸顔で髪が短くて、鼻が丸くて、四角いメガネをかけています。背は低い方で、太ってもやせてもいません。１１歳でサッカーが大好きです。」

今日、みんなで似顔絵を見ながら作文を読んだ。若かったころを懐かしく思い出しながら。

Cápsula del tiempo

Hace cinco años, me tocó hacer una substitución en un grupo de último curso de primaria. Ahora están en último curso de secundaria obligatoria. Aquel día de principios de primavera del 2009, dediqué la hora a que escribieran unas líneas en un papel sobre el compañero con que compartían pupitre y lo dibujasen. Metí los papeles en una carpeta y el tiempo me hizo olvidar papeles y carpeta. Hace un par de días, un alumno que sí lo recordaba me preguntó por esa carpeta. Esta mañana la he encontrado y la he llevado a clase. Suele suceder que, cuando faltan unos meses para que los alumnos superen la secundaria y dejen nuestra escuela, empiezan a inquietarse. Es normal, porque la mayoría llevan juntos y con nosotros desde los tres o los cuatro años.

«Marta es una chica muy simpática. Tiene once años y no es ni alta ni baja. De momento está más bien delgada, aunque ella está convencida de lo contrario. Es muy amable, un poco vergonzosa y muy cariñosa. Si tengo que decirlo todo, también es un poco pesada, y a veces agobia, pero en general se podría decir que es la amiga perfecta».

«A David le gustan algunas cosas raras, como correr detrás de la gente, morderse los labios o hacer caras… Le gusta ir ligando con todas las chicas que conoce. Lo raro es que cada día quiere a una diferente. Tiene la cara redonda, el pelo corto y una nariz muy pequeña y lleva gafas cuadradas. Es más bien bajo, ni gordo ni flaco. Tiene once años y le gusta el fútbol».

Hoy hemos estado leyendo los textos, mirando los dibujos y recordando con nostalgia cuando éramos todos más jóvenes.

Time capsule

Five years ago, I had to substitute another teacher in a last year primary school class. Most of them are now in the last year of secondary school and are my students. That day in early spring 2009, I dedicated the lesson to make them write some lines on a paper about the student sitting next to them. They had to draw them, too. At the end of the lesson, I put the papers in a file, and time made me forget both papers and file. Some days ago, one of those students who remembered that time asked me about the file. This morning, I have found it and I had brought it to the classroom. It often happens, when there are just some months left before our students leave our school, they begin to feel uneasy. It is normal, because most of them have been here together since they were four or five years old.

«Marta is a very friendly girl. She is 11, neither short nor tall. At the moment she is rather thin, although she thinks she is not at all. She is very kind, a bit shy and very sweet. If I have to tell it all, she is sometimes a bit tiresome, and now and then a bit annoying, but in general I could say she is the perfect friend».

«David likes strange things, for instance running after people, biting his lips of making faces... He likes trying to chat up all the girls he meets. What I find odd is that he likes a different girl every day. He has a round face, short hair and a very small nose and wears square glasses. He is rather short, neither fat nor thin. He is 11 and likes soccer».

Today, we have been reading the texts, looking at the drawings and longingly remembering the time when we all were younger.
